I'd unless I misread my information above, it looks like I've gone from only having about 2 months of a subscription left to five. I don't have any notes or messages regarding how I attained three additional months, or who my benefactor is, so let me just say a thank you to that kind soul. It is greatly appreciated!

So here we are less than a month from the first day of spring and we finally have some snow! Whee!

No baby-sitting kids came today since schools were out (that means they're parents had off too), even the hubs stayed home. We fixed biscuits and country ham for breakfast (the kids could barely eat, they were so excited). And even though it took nearly fifteen minutes to get everyone dressed, we finally made it outside.

And the darnedest thing, somehow the door to the van was left open during the night, so it snowed inside the van! Wtf??? So we had to turn the heater on to start melting the snow.

After ten minutes we almost had a mutiny, the hubs went to his folk's side of the farm to borrow his dad's four-wheeler and the girls started crying "daddy left, where did daddy go? I wanna go with daddy! I'm cold! I wanna go inside" Finally he came back and all of a sudden they weren't cold and crying anymore. Amazing. Lol!
Then, using a little red-neck enginuity, the plastic top of the sandbox became a sled pulled by a four-wheel. Lol! Kris wouldn't have anything to do with it, but Skylar had a blast. I even hopped on the four-wheeler with the hubs and Krissy to pull Skylar along (kids, don't try this at home).

Got some cute pics of the kids in the snow, I'll have to post them later.
We're probably go back out after Krissy gets up from her nap. For that matter, I think now that my belly's full and the hubs has the fire going, a nap doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Later ya'll.

No Snow????!!!!!???

Lastnight the weather channel was predicting up to three inches of snow here for today. I went to the trouble of lugging out the kid's snow boots, quilted overalls, jackets, etc., so that I wouldn't have to hunt them down today. And guess what, during the night the snow swept south of us! Argh!! So all we have today is wind gusts up to 20 mph and two disappointed kids with a bad case of cabin fever. We haven't had a decent snow here since the year Skylar as conceived, winter of 2003 (ever notice how autumn baby-booms corelate to snowfall of the previous winter?? ;) Lol!).

So for those of you who live in parts that actually got significant snowfall and are grumbling about digging out your sidewalks and vehicles, think about that bored stay-at-home mom in Virginia with two kids who are bouncing off the walls and are dying to build their first snowman.

Monday morning musings...

It's hard to believe that just three years ago this past week was when I found out that I was going to be a mommy again. And that here Krissy is, the exact same age Skylar was when I found out she was going to be a big sister. And I guess a little part of me is kinda sad that since the hubs and I have closed the door (via surgery)on the possibility of more children. And that I won't get to see what kind of big sister she'll be.

Skylar has been a wonderful big sister so far. Yes, she has her moments, as all big sisters do (as a big sister myself, I get where she's coming from a lot of the time). But she is turning out to be a very creative, vivacious and wonderul little girl and I am proud of her. Krissy is my silly goose, petite, polite for a two year old.

Now, the following rant is aimed at the media, not at necessarily Dems or GOP'ers:
I've got NBC's day-before-the-inaugeration coverage on (because there's nothing good on History or Travel Channel right now), hosted by the "Today" show crowd. If I'm going to watch news, this is the bunch I usually like to watch. Today I beg to differ.
Who gives a royal f**k that Michelle Obama has not chosen what she's going to wear for the inaugeration or the ball afterward! The woman is a mom of two little girls (of which I whole heartedly sympathize!) and is about to undergo a life-altering experience in front of the entire world - cut the woman some slack!!!

Just because she is one of the youngest first ladies this generation has known, does not mean the media should throw her under the same microscope/bus that the media has such a habit of doing to Hollywood starlettes! She is not a starlette!! This is wife of the man that this country voted to lead our nation. And by virtue of her position she should be treated with the same respect and privacy! I swear if I see one headline in the WalMart checkout that says "Michelle's Baby-Bump!" or "First Lady gains 40 pounds!" I will friggin scream!

Yay for the Hubs! :)

Alright, gotta brag on meh husband! I've been gripping and moaning for months now about my piddly copy of Photoshop Elements 2. I can no longer use the GIMP, everything I work on in that program gets fried! PS Elements has been working fine, but I'm ready to spread my wings and try different techniques that I just cannot accomplish with my current software, plus there are so many cool brushes out there, but the number of brushes for PSE2 is very very limited.
So after Christmas I was looking online and was getting very depressed about how much PS costs, even to purchase a used copy from Amazon was an arm and a leg!! :(
But my resourceful hubbie went on ebay and found copies of PS at prices I was willing to part with!!! So he diligently watched several auctions last night and snagged a copy of PS CS3!!! (*does snoopy happy dance*).
It should be here in a week to 10 days! Wheee!

That's all for now.
